Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
They are supposed to be at 200 bars when brand new right?
So just make sure they still perform at that pressure or close enough ±10bars.
If they are way down low, get some washers for immediate use and start searching for new injectors to swap on next service.
Make sure you take a note of all references on the injector holders.
200 bars is a high enough pressure to spray oil efficiently. This helps starting the engine in the case you forgot to switch fuel...
anyway, the injectors are designed to run on diesel at this pressure: no problem with this.

You told me before to use used injectros at 200 bars.
I have some injectors on the bus with 20.000 km.
I remember i took my injectors 10 months ago and they were at 110 bars.
I should take them to the pump expert and make them put the injectors at 200 bars?
And i have new injectors too, i bought them at brasil.
Should i take them to 200 bars?
Or sell them and buy used injectors and take them to 200 bars?
god bless

Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
wikipedia tells me the OM352 engine has opening pressure of injection nozzle at 200 bars.
Please make sure this value is correct.
I have seen injectors loosing a bit of pressure whith time, but never 50%
110bars is definetly too low.
180 bars is still good enough.
You should use new or cleaned injectors (do the cleaning yourself) in the range 180-210 bars.
20.000 kms for new injectors, they should still be at 200 bars otherwise, they are made out of chewing gum!
Please make sure this value is correct.

Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
Hey guys, its been a wild time, i moved my bushome 1600km
south of where i was, now i am the south of argentina waitting for the snow.
I arrived yesterday so next week ill end the modification.
I have all i need.
Hoses, solenoid valvs, cooper tubes, etc.
What id been thinking is that my vegetable oil tank is on the roof
of the bus, more or less 3.30 meters.
What dou you think about the return line?
Will it have the pressure to get that high?
Or I should send the return to a tank under the bus?
Thanks
Alma

Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
The injection pump pushes a few bars (depending on rpm) on the return.
This means a few tens of meters.
No worry with 3 meters.

Salut,

Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
Even at 1.3bars, the lowest value, the oil will reach about 13 meters altitude...No worry.
That element should be relatively easy to check: a screwdriver to push the internal piston and you see wether the piston moves a few millimeters or not.
The access to that small part might be a bit more tedious though!

Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
Hello my friends. Im back.
I am back to the project after a couple of months
and i already have the materials to create the heat exchanger.
To do it, i should wrap each cooper tube with cooper wire.
Put them together and weld them with tin?
Then i was thinking of putting them inside a pvc tuve
and isolate them with expanded foam.
Thanks

Hello. If you're good at coper welding ...You can make better than this... I will post you sevaral drawings of het exchanger i'have built... Just with coper hose ...But you must weld them with hard coper welding...

Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
copper wire winding is correct although you do'nt need that much wire: leave some room for the tin!
but start without insulation and check for leaks first. Afetr a few weeks use, insulate what you can.
Correct but too expensive: a high temperature insulator (above 90°C) and some tape around it if you want perfection.AlmaSana a écrit :Then i was thinking of putting them inside a pvc tuve

Not that expensive, i bought the insulation foam for $10 dollars..
The wire need to be twisted and then wraped arround the copper tube? how much
space should i live beetween it?
After doing that, i put them together and solder them with tin together too?
thanks

Re: [HELP-NEW] EcoBus. MB1114. Bi-Carburation
Hi Alma,
no need to twist the wire first.
wrap the wire around both tubes side by side at the same time, not one tube after the other. This will hold the tubes together while you melt the tin.
let's say you leave 1 mm from wire to wire. That should end up to 100 turns: more than required!
God bless

Better? 52 turns, need 48 more.
