If you're in a hurry ..You can use a facet pump after your filters...it makes 30liters /hour with oil a 15°C ...with a little batterrie and a solar panel it can bee used everywhere...

joumpy a écrit :coffe filtering is the perfect set up.
Only drawback: time
good for the first 2 or 3 liters, not more

fuel filters have a bit more surface so faster than coffe, maybe twice as fast, this is still rather slow

water filter have much larger surface area so they are fast and last long.
Choose the largest ones: 10 inch minimum
multi cartridge
first cartridge 100µm or more washable preferably
last cartridge 5µm or less
Pressure: only use gravity, not a pump
only filter clear oil

never turn large jars upside down: you will ruin your back. Use a hose and siphon it off
thank you my master...
what about tin sound soldering.
whats that.. sound soldering..
i was going to melt it with Autogenous welding

sound soldering: the tin flows in place.
not sound: the tin makes liquid bubles that stick to the copper, but the joint is crap. Often due to too low a temperature.
autogenous: great

So what will happen with the water contained in my oil?
It will evaporate in the piston?

once its been taken by the first pump, heated and pressurized in the injection pump, the oil/water (99/1) must be close to emulsion state ; it will just evaporate and evacuated through the exhaust
i guess its only cooling down a bit the combustion ...
but. really ; dont worry ; as long as you dont pour "water" in the tank its okay

i ve got a story, a friend of mine, you go to skiing ; we had recycled oil for the trip back in the trunk ; let it sit for a week car is outside -10 - - 15°C ; so the oil gets really thick but still possible to pour ;
we fill the tank before leaving, and we had 2 ice rocks, just like the one you put in a drink passing from the jars to the tank ;
the fact is, the very little fraction of water "dispersed" in the fuel gathered and formed these rocks upon freezing of water, it looked like a lot of water !
car actually EATS IT ALL without a sweat ; never noticed anything while burning it... !

Hey guys i went to the tin welder, he told me i should handsand the tubes and
scratch them so the tin welds better.

And i have a question, where should we weld?
A? On the top of each tube, each side.
B? In the middle of the 2 tubes, each side.
C? On the side of both tubes?

ABC? hahaha

Thanks
love and respect

Tin is used for thermal contact so B: in the middle.
It is also used to hold both tubes together so A+B+C at both extremities.

My friends! Solder is done.
i think the welding guy added a lot of tin.

i was there with him while he was doing it,
but i was trusting it was ok.

We realized that if the wire was just there to
prevent both tubes separation it wasnt doind that much.
Becase the solder was strong enough.

Remember i will put this inside a pvc tube and
inject surfboards foam.... so it gets isolated
of outside cold and wind.

The works is ok? thanks as always god bless

So the exchanger now is inside a pvc tube,
i injected "surfboard foam" in between them and isolated
a little more with beer cans.

Time to make it work!

Hey guys how are you doing.

Almost all set.
I had been filtering oil with:

A "Tergal" blanket
400 200 100 55 25 micron strainers.
and 10 5 1 micron bags.

The blankets or strainers never got too cloth.
I am thinking if the waxes are going trough or i still need
to filter a lot to see them. they apeear just a little bit.
I had filter 150 liters.

god bless
alma

This is a lot of filtering!
a two or three stage filtering is easier to maintain.

Remember always give the waste vegetable oil some time for settling and filter only after a few weeks what is clear.

As for waxes, the rule is simple: filtering must take place at the same temperature you are planning to use the WVO.
Do not stock filtered WVO for too long, filter and use within few weeks.

God bless

Thanks a lot my frienddd! nice tip, filter and use :)

i am filtering after a weeks of settle :)
Twoo three stage? have pictures? the pool filters?
its to expensive here each filter for pools..

Hi Alma,
Pool filters are definetly not compulsory!
I use a polyethylene blanket filter (sold for 5µm filtering) I fold onto a reversed 20 liter oil plastic jar with bottom cut.
The oil goes through the blanket, into the reversed plastic container and into a standard plastic container placed at bottom.
When the 20 liters have been filtered, I transfer manually into another container and add 20 liters in the blanket.
Dead simple and single stage, but it requires a bit of manning every day.

After settling, only use clear oil and let the rest settle for much longer time: you will get an extra 10/20% clear oil on top
